At St. Margaret in the Pines Anglican Church, the Sidespersons Ministry assist in the smooth operation of the service by seating latecomers; assisting those in need, coordinating the flow of people to the altar rail for prayer and communion; collecting the offering and taking it up to the altar on the last verse of the offertory hymn. They meet the special needs of members of the congregation during the service (e.g. notifying incumbent of people to be given communion in the pew who cannot make it up to the altar rail). In the event of emergency, the sidespersons are responsible for implementing the St Margaret in-the-Pines Evacuation Procedure. Our sidespersons also prepare the technical equipment, i.e. lights and audio equipment for the service and must therefore be willing and available to arrive at least one half hour before each worship service. If you are interested in participating in this ministry, please speak with the Coordinator, Vernon Williams.
